Here's how LittleNest handles the things you log — what stays on your device, what only happens if you choose it, and how to take it all back whenever you want.

Who LittleNest is for

LittleNest is built for parents, guardians, and caregivers who want to keep track of feeds, sleep, diapers, and everything else newborn life involves. The app isn't designed for children to use on their own.

What stays on your device

By default, everything. Care logs, baby profiles, notes, photos, and your reminder settings live locally on your iPhone. You can use LittleNest this way without ever signing in.

What changes if you sign in

Signing in is optional and only needed for LittleNest+ — our subscription that adds cloud sync, sharing with a partner or caregiver, and cloud backup. When those features are on, your care data is encrypted and synced across the devices you and your shared caregivers are signed into.

Stay signed out, and your data stays on your device. Simple as that.

Analytics & crash reports

We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to know whether the basics are working and to fix crashes faster. What we collect is intentionally generic — things like "a feed was logged" or "the export screen was opened."

We don't collect names, notes, photos, exact amounts, baby identifiers, or specific health-related care details. None of that ever leaves your phone unless you've turned on cloud sync.

Permissions we may ask for

  • Photos & camera — only if you want to attach photos to logs, milestones, or your baby's profile.
  • Notifications — for reminders, session timers, and shared-event notifications.
  • Sign in with Apple, Google, or email — only if you decide to subscribe to LittleNest+.

Saying no to any of these still lets you use the core tracking experience.

Lock-screen privacy

Reminders run through Apple's notification system. We keep the wording on the lock screen generic, so a glance from across the room doesn't reveal your baby's care details.

Deleting your account & data

You can remove your account, your cloud data, and the local data on your device at any time. The full steps live on our delete account page, and the same flow is built into the app under Settings.

A note on medical advice

LittleNest is a tracking and organization tool, not a medical device. It can't diagnose, treat, or give emergency guidance. For medical concerns, please trust your instincts and reach out to a qualified professional.
